About

Purpose of Blog

The purpose of this blog is to provide insight into my personal views in relation to political and policy matters, and to reference useful information of interest to who I am and where I live.

I write as a part of the generation Y interested in policy debate; a person proud of my Aboriginal and Australian heritage; a person aligned with and seeking to shape public policy and particular movements where I live. In our governance systems too many bad decisions are made because of a lack of analysis and a failure to adequately engage the issues and challenges required for effective change.

I started this blog as someone interested in advancing in politics, but later became disenchanted with how the system can so easily serve interests that I see as unethical and self-serving.  Now I write to convey my thoughts and observations.

Advances in communication continue to create more ways to relay more detailed opinion to more people in more areas. I recall as a teenager using the internet with a group of friends, clicking 'refresh' to update a US basketball game so that we could track the game well before the local newspaper reports. Now I can only begin to comprehend its reach and future potential.

My aim is to provide a sense of proportion and balance.

I write as an individual confident in the potential of new ideas; optimistic in how an informed society directs decisions; and interested in how the lessons of the past and of our own analysis of the present shape our future.
